Mathematics- Measurement and Geometry

As an introduction to the unit of measurement and geometry, focusing on length, students were given a task to select 3 methods and measure items that included: their maths books, their foot, table, 


After the students had chances to explore and use various methods to measure, a discussion was had about how the results from the measurements differed. The students were able to articulate that the methods changed due to size of their pencils, where they began the measurement or what they used to measure the item.
